Starting his recording career in the 1970s, Mata has garnered acclaim as a Western Swing Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year from the Academy of Western Artists. His association with legendary acts like Tommy Morrell and the Time Warp Top Hands led to guest appearances with icons like the Texas Playboys. With over 40 years of music-making experience, Billy Mata & The Texas Tradition are renowned for bringing authentic Western Swing and traditional country music to dancehalls across Texas. Billy has put together a museum quality show paying special tribute to the legendary Ray Price. Hear your favorite Ray Price tunes like "Crazy Arms", "Release Me", and "Please Talk To My Heart", along with some history and stories from Ray’s legendary career!
